"Everybody is a genius.
But if you judge a fish by it’s ability to climb a tree
it will live his whole life thinking that it’s stupid."
All youth have talents! Unfortunately many youngsters
grow up in underprivileged environments.
Environments that don’t sufficiently stimulate them
to discover, develop and deploy their talents.
This makes some youngsters face a continuous disadvantage
while they could significantly increase their social chances
with a small investment in educational projects.
CHANGEMAKERz creates a stimulating environment
by organizing educational projects for and with youngsters.
Such a project is 'Games 4 Change!'.

Games 4 Change!
'Games 4 Change!' is an Erasmus+ project that brings together 40 youth workers between the age of 18 and 30 years old from Belgium (City Pirates), The Netherlands (CHANGEMAKERz), Portugal (Tá a Mexer) & Spain (Fifide). We want to promote interculturality and inclusive growth, using sportive activities, workshops and debates with informal methods of learning. Sports has a potential as a tool for promoting social inclusion and social cohesion in European societies. This fits into the needs of empowerment of the young (often vulnerable) participants and foster their competences to create, construct and conduct pedagogical activities that benefit their communities.
Objectives of 'Games 4 Change!'
1. Using sports as tool for social inclusion: raise awareness of self and society
2. Using and promoting non-formal learning
3. Improving language skills
4. Intercultural learning and awareness
5. Giving youngsters with fewer opportunities a broader life vision
6. Personal development: encourage self-growth and self-esteem
7. Social development: encouraging active citizenship through sports
8. Create opportunities for future exchanges and mobility of young Europeans through Erasmus+
9. Boost trainer and leadership skills, as well as employability
This project will encourage the participants to continue to be youth trainers and volunteers in their communities. After this project, they will be more comfortable to experiment, create, construct and conduct games and sports as a pedagogical tool.
